Training on Plant Biotechnology :
Since its inception the Regional Plant Resource Centre is engaged in research on various aspects of plant science like Plant Taxonomy, Biodiversity Conservation, Cytogenetics, Plant Tissue Culture including mass propagation of economically important plants, Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Microbiology, DNA Fingerprinting, Techniques for Improvement of Floriculture, Effects of Heavy Metals on Plants, Medicinal and Aromatic plants etc. With the objectives of disseminating the knowledge and technique developed on these various aspects, the RPRC is providing six months training for the students of M.Sc./M.Tech. and B.Sc/B.Tech in Biotechnology of different Universities/Institutes. The training course has been designed to provide an exposure to the laboratory technique in researches on plant sciences for the students of M.Sc./M.Tech. Biotechnology or for the course. A certificate is awarded on the successful completion of the training and submission of dissertation.
Course Duration : From January to June and July to December each year.
Course Fee : Rs. 30,000/- (one-time payment)
Seats available : 20 numbers. (Maximum)
Eligibility : M.Sc. Biotech/ B.Tech.
Submission of Application : By 30th November / 30th May of each year.
Intimation to candidates : By 10th December / 10th June of each year.
Deposition of course fee : 30th December / 30th June of each year.
Eligible candidates can apply for the Six month training programme. Copy of the CV forwarded by the HOD can be sent to Dr. B. Deo, Training-in-Charge, Regional Plant Resource Centre, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar -751 015. Candidates can also submit their forwarded CV by hand during office hours in the Office of RPRC. Course fee can be deposited in form of Bank Draft drawn in favour of Chief Executive, Regional Plant Resource Centre payable at Bhubaneswar/ Candidates can also deposit the course fee in cash during office hours in the Office of RPRC after confirmation of admission for the course, intimation to the students will be done through email.. As the seats are limited, so first come first serve will be considered on the basis of deposit of course fee.
